Board Member Profile: Booker Manigault
|
I have been a resident of Berkeley County for 15 Years. I moved form New York after 27 years in retail and 12 years in Education. In retail, I worked in Store Operation and I was in charged of all new store opening in the 50 States and Puerto Rico.
I attended public school in Berkeley County. I joined the Army as a paratrooper at Fort Bragg, N.C. after high school. I later received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Baruch College in New York.
I am married to Greta Buchanan Manigault. I am involved in several community organizations, and I sit on four boards. I am a member of Morris Brown AME Church in Charleaston. I stayed in shape by running 8 miles day - now, I walk 8 miles a day.
I was a Boy Scout leader for 40 years. I teach tennis during the summer for two weeks in St Stephen. I have been mentoring at Berkeley Intermediate School. I love to fish every chance I get. I am the President of the Moncks Corner Branch NAACP.
